Electromagnetic shielding

Electromagnetic room shielding can have a dual purpose:

  • one, to prevent or reduce the ingress of outside interference into a room;
  • the other is to prevent interference signals and other electromagnetic signals from escaping into the environmentone, to prevent or reduce the ingress of outside interference into a room;

Electromagnetic shielding refers to technological solutions to reduce the impact of electromagnetic radiation and to protect devices and systems that may have harmful effects on human health. In our modern lives we are increasingly exposed to electromagnetic radiation from mobile phones and wireless networks to satellite communications. It is therefore of paramount importance to understand the importance of electromagnetic shielding and the protection options available.

There are several electromagnetic shielding technologies that can help reduce the harmful effects of radiation. One of the simplest and most widely used is the Faraday cage, which is a well-enclosed environment made of conductive material. This environment is able to conduct and dissipate electromagnetic waves, thus minimising their impact on the interior.

Electromagnetic shielding
The following types of shielding are distinguished according to the frequency of the interference signals:
  • High-frequency electromagnetic room shielding (e.g. server room, interception-protected meeting room, NATO room, studio, measuring and testing laboratory, etc.)
  • Low frequency electromagnetic shielding (transformer rooms, busbars, main distribution rooms)

Our company undertakes the design, construction and control measurements of electromagnetic room shielding.

Our scope of activities also includes design and expertise tasks related to the electronic security of classified data according to TEMPEST requirements.
